Peter Chan’s work depicts narratives with characters in quiet psychological states and in meditative moments of reflection. He is exploring the psycho- logy of solitary and romantic states that is part of the human condition.
He uses light as a metaphor in support of his subjects and to enhance dramatic moments in his narratives. He has mastered the techniques and use of chiaroscuro and diffused lighting to explore philosophical concepts, and the ideals and permanence of beauty and romantic love.
