What is it to imagine new worlds? What is it to reshape our own? In Feathered We Remember, we will craft work that envisions alternate realities and universes, stories that welcome the fantastical, the mythical, and the dystopian. FWR will be a workshop for femme-identified folks who wish to consider how the dynamics of femininity can be explored, translated and confronted within speculative literary fictions. We will look to a variety of media by femme creators as inspiration to weave endless possibilities into our work.
Feathered We Remember is a week-long online workshop where participants will engage in daily writing activities, lesson-based writing prompts, & group discussion led by a team of enthusiastic advisors. FWR will feature a live guest seminar by Rachel McKibbens and Chaya Bhuvaneswar. Winter Tangerine Workshops are for writers seeking to interrogate & expand their craft. Our workshops are not designed to teach writing; we aim to build new lenses to read & create dynamic work.
Feathered We Remember is for femme-identified writers of any genre, though the reading list will be focused on fiction/prose. The workshop will be held March 31st - April 6th in 2019. There is no application fee. Tuition is $100. Financial aid is available to those with need. There is no age limit or requirement, and no experience is necessary. Applications are open through December 31st 2018.
