I hope that Fragments of Persephone continues to showcase the fragmentation of identity and lineage-- where we come from poetically, and our origin myths.

July Westhale is a Fulbright-nominated poet, activist, and journalist. She has been awarded residencies from the Vermont Studio Center, Lambda Literary Foundation, Sewanee, Napa Valley, Tin House and Bread Loaf. Her poetry has most recently been published in Elective Affinities, Adrienne, burntdistrict, Eleven Eleven, Sugar Mule, The East Bay Review, 580 Split, Quarterly West, and PRISM International. She was the 2014 Tomales Bay Poetry Fellow, and recipient of the Raveel Grant from the Dickinson House.
