Where are the workshops hosted?
Our live NYC workshops are hosted at Poets House, a literary center and poetry library in New York City.
Who are the teaching faculty?
The teaching faculty (we call them Advisors!) for the workshop change depending on the session. Previous advisors have included Xandria Phillips, jayy dodd, Safia Elhillo, and Julian Randall, among others.
Are the Guest Seminar speakers the same as the Advisors for the workshop?
No. The Advisors are the facilitators for the workshop classes throughout the four days. The Guest Seminar speakers each give an hour-long seminar and Q&A during the workshop.
How many writers are in each class?
Each class caps at 8 students, plus the Advisor.
Does tuition include housing or food?
Other than a welcome breakfast spread on the first day, tuition does not cover housing or food.
Can you give me any recommendations for where to stay?
While we don’t have any official partners or recommendations, we can suggest looking into AirBnB or hostels for an affordable stay.
Can I attend more than one workshop?
You may attend one session for each series we offer (typically, Spring, Summer, and Fall/Winter), with a maximum of three live workshops a year.
Do you have testimonials?
Yes, we do. :)
