Winter Tangerine is proud to present Open By Riot Laughter, a workshop for Trans & GNC Writers. OPRL is a week-long intensive writing workshop from November 10th to the 20th that includes full writing lessons, prompts, guided writing generation activities & guest seminars by Ryka Aoki and Jayson P. Smith.

Trans life is more than a special issue. It is more than the few news stories marking death. It is more than legislative terrorism or cis people in Oscar-baiting drag. Trans life is celebrating all that holds our bodies outside of the limitations of binary. There has never not been a need for trans & GNC voices to be cultivated, refined, protected. In these times of abject & emboldened hate, trans voices must document themselves. Our goal is to continue to blossom the voices doing the urgent work of documenting their truths in a world that renders them invisible. OBRL is for transgender, gender & all gender non-conforming writers.

Tuition is $75. Financial aid is available to those with need. There is no age limit or requirement, and no experience is necessary.
