CHAPTER 4: FAERIE PORTALS

I really loved books about faeries when I was younger. Most of the books would mention faerie portals, and sometimes, the portals would be inside mushroom rings. One day, two or three mushroom rings popped up in our front yard, but I was too afraid to walk inside of them, because I knew that one day in a faerie kingdom was equal to 100 years in the real world. I was very careful around the mushrooms, and would go out early every morning to collect dew from them and keep it in a special bottle. My brother, though, wasn't as impressed by the faerie rings as I was; he and his friends destroyed them with sticks. The mushroom rings never grew back.
