Hi there,
We're thrilled to share the following work with you. Of all the workshops Winter Tangerine has hosted so far, We Sweat Honeysuckle was absolutely my favorite. There was such a strong sense of community almost immediately - the work written during WSH truly thrived in such a supportive, safe space. We explored queerness in so many different ways: in love, in pain, in joy, and in strength - the strength to keep on keeping on, to love in spite of so much hate. To simply exist as queer in a world so full of bigotry is a revolutionary act in itself - and I truly believe that the writers we worked with during WSH were revolutionaries. Not exactly the kind printed across history pages, but a more tender rebel: a softer, warmer kind.
I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who advised, participated, and wrote during WSH. A special thank you to Shira Erlichman and Danez Smith who gave insightful, beautiful, and enthralling Guest Seminars. I would also like to briefly mention that we are open for applications until February 20th for our next workshop, Sing That Like Dovesong, which will be for writers of color interested in exploring personal narratives & lived pasts.
I hope you enjoy the selected anthology - I know I did.
Best,
