We are honored to introduce you to first cohort of the Winter Tangerine Fellowship. This program was conceived with the goal of developing a truly dynamic and radically accessible space of literary mentorship. The year-long fellowship involves collaborating with and contributing to Winter Tangerine in a variety of ways. Fellows will write, edit and fully complete a chapbook with the guidance and support of WT staff mentors, guest writers and artists, and the other members of their cohort. The finished chapbooks will be published by our sister press, Honeysuckle Press, in a box set in early 2019.
Throughout the year, our fellows will direct features, curate columns, review submissions, and conceptualize new ways of engaging an online literary audience and fortifying a sustainable community. All of this is to further prepare and engage them with the digital landscape of literature and art. We received hundreds of applications and were floored by the level of care we saw in them; the five writers we ultimately chose struck us to our core.
These writers marvel and shimmer. Their work is bold and luminous, and the urgency and insight of their work undeniably moved us. We were deeply impressed with the dedication and concept they applied to their creative and editorial practices and are thrilled for the opportunity to work with them so closely this year. These writers are the future. Please join us in welcoming them to the Winter Tangerine community.
